short story anaysis

Short Story Analysis
Point of views:
 “The boy with the brown eye blues” isn’t narrated by anyone in the story. It’s told in the first person point of view.
Character analysis:
Bryan James is the main character in this short story. He’s successful, intelligent, charming, popular, and all around good kid. Bryans only downfall is his abuse of the hearts of women.
Brianna is the main attraction in the short story “boy with the brown eye blues”. Brianna isn’t very popular. She is a great student and an exceptional basketball player but no one notices her.
Plot/central conflict:
“The boy with the brown eye blues” is about a very popular guy named Bryan James. He is the apple of almost every girl’s eye. Bryan also almost dated every girl at his school. One day on Bryan’s way to school, he see the most beautiful girl has ever seen in his life; Brianna; its love at first sight. As Bryan tries to approach her bell rings, but she moves so swiftly that he couldn’t reach her. All Bryan knew about Brianna was she had these decadently beautiful amber brown eyes. The main conflict that develops as the story progresses is that when Bryan finally reaches Brianna and asks her out on a date she turns him down. This crushed Bryan, after that day he developed the brown eye blues. Bryan’s main struggle was trying to win Brianna’s heart. In the end, Bryan succeeds and they live happily after.

Setting:
The boy with the brown eye blues takes place in the year 2011 and at Christopher High school.
Ending:
The main conflict of “The boys with the brown eye blues” is resolved when Bryan takes Brianna on a date and wins her heart over. Once he won her heart he was rid of the brown eye blues.
