lauryn was born in jersey she was the youngest bof two childre.. her mother was a school teacher and her dad worked with computers. very early on lauryn had an ear for music. she used to listen to her parent 1960 mowtown records. lauryn was on the show showtime at the apollo singing her own rendition of smoky robisons whos loveing you. at the begginig she was booed tremendously but by the end of her preformances she won the crowd over and recieved a huge round of applause.
i believe that this event contributed to her success because it tested her strenght and perseverance. it helped her figure out that she can do anything no matter what the crowd says she can control her own destiny..and choose her own ways of life
